Long Island Restaurant Week Turns 20. In Suffolk, the Best Deal Is at Lunch

  • October 29, 2026

In Suffolk, Long Island Restaurant Week has mostly become a $48 dinner. The fall 2026 edition runs Sunday, Nov. 1, through Sunday, Nov. 8. On the official Suffolk list, roughly two of every three restaurants offer the top $48 three-course dinner, and only three restaurants in the county list the entry-level $30 dinner.

Long Island Restaurant Week started as a fall promotion in 2006, according to Greater Long Island. That makes this fall's edition the 20th anniversary. The idea hasn't changed: a fixed price for a full meal, often somewhere you've been meaning to try. What has changed in Suffolk is where the fixed price lands.

The price ladder moved up, and Suffolk restaurants went to the top rung

Restaurants can sign up at any mix of four price points. There's a $25 two-course lunch and three-course dinners at $30, $40 and $48. In spring 2025, the published tiers were $24 for lunch and $29, $39 and $46 for dinner. A Harley's American Grille menu from spring 2026 still showed the $46 price. Each of the three lower tiers went up a dollar, and the top one went up two.

The bigger change is which tier the restaurants chose. Here's how the Suffolk roster looked in late October:

Tier What it includes How many Suffolk restaurants list it
$25 lunch Two courses About three dozen
$30 dinner Three courses Three
$40 dinner Three courses A solid middle group
$48 dinner Three courses Roughly two-thirds of the roster

The three $30 dinners are at Burgerology in Huntington, Burgerology in Stony Brook and Frankie's Fabulous Italiano in East Hampton. Every other dinner in the county starts at $40, and most are $48.

The official directory is a live page, and Greater Long Island reported that the list would keep growing as Nov. 1 got closer. The counts could shift a little by the time you book. The overall shape is unlikely to change: in Suffolk, a $48 Restaurant Week dinner is the default.

What $48 actually comes to at the table

The posted price covers three courses and nothing else. The official FAQ says gratuity is not included and recommends a 20% tip. It also says coffee, tea, soft drinks and alcohol are not part of the prix fixe. R.AIRE at The Hampton Maid prints "Tax and gratuity are not included" right on its fall 2026 menu.

Here's the math. A $48 dinner with a 20% tip is $57.60 per person, before tax or a single drink. A $25 lunch with the same tip is $30. For two people, the gap is more than $55 before anyone orders a glass of wine.

That's why the lunch list is where the old Restaurant Week bargain still lives in Suffolk. The rules support it, too: restaurants offering the $25 lunch must serve it every day they're open during the week, during lunch hours.

Where the $25 lunch is

About three dozen Suffolk restaurants offer the two-course lunch. Many of them also run a $48 dinner, so lunch is a cheaper way into the same dining room.

North Shore

  • Mirabelle Tavern, Stony Brook ($48 dinner too)
  • Sandbar, Cold Spring Harbor ($48 dinner too)
  • Blackfish Tavern, Northport ($48 dinner too)
  • Salted. On the Harbor and Ritz Cafe of Northport, both in Northport, each with a $40 dinner
  • The Marin, Northport, which lists lunch only
  • Sea Basin Restaurant, Rocky Point ($48 dinner too)
  • Smithtown Bistro & Pub and The Garden Grill, both in Smithtown
  • Amici Restaurant in Mount Sinai and Caffe Amici in Selden

South Shore

  • Bayberry, Islip ($48 dinner too)
  • Snapper Inn Waterfront Restaurant, Oakdale, the rare spot that also offers both the $40 and $48 dinners
  • Painters' Restaurant, Brookhaven ($48 dinner too)
  • Captain Bill's and Roadtrip, both in Bay Shore
  • Post Office Cafe, Babylon
  • Ruta Oaxaca Mexican Cuisine and Don Quijote, both in Patchogue
  • La Volpe Ristorante, Center Moriches

East End and North Fork

  • Le Charlot, Shippy's and Union Southampton, all in Southampton
  • Miracle, Sag Harbor, with a $40 dinner
  • Legends, New Suffolk
  • Pete's Taverna and Bistro 72, both in Riverhead
  • Westhampton Beach Brew & Grille, in Westhampton Beach and Manorville

Bistro 72 in Riverhead is one exception to the no-beverages rule. Southforker reports that coffee or tea comes with both its $40 dinner and its $25 lunch. The restaurant's posted menu has a fall pear salad, crab cake, honey-glazed pork chop, pan-seared salmon and a cider donut for dessert.

Why Saturday night is the weakest slot

If lunch is the best value, Saturday dinner is the least reliable. The FAQ says participating restaurants must offer the three-course dinner "all night, every night they are open from Sunday to Sunday, except Saturday when certain restaurants may only offer it until 7 p.m."

The 7 p.m. cutoff applies only to "certain restaurants," not to every participant. Some kitchens keep the prix fixe running all evening Saturday, and others switch back to the regular menu early. The FAQ doesn't say which days each restaurant is open, either. Its answer to that question is "You must call that particular restaurant."

For a $48 dinner, that leaves Sunday through Friday as the safer nights, plus the second Sunday on Nov. 8. If Saturday is the only night that works, call ahead and ask how late the menu runs.

The restaurants using the week as an introduction

Not every $48 listing is a familiar name. Several Suffolk restaurants are using this edition to meet new diners, and that's a good reason to pick one over a regular spot.

The official site lists Sundays On The Bay in Hampton Bays as a first-time participant. Southforker describes its $48 menu as including duck confit, scallops with Aleppo chili butter, lobster and kimchi ramen, flounder Milanese and Long Island cheese pumpkin tortelli. The Marin, on Northport Harbor at the Britannia Yachting Center, is making its Restaurant Week debut, with the $25 lunch only.

Southforker calls Lola's Kitchen in Eastport a newcomer to the East End that is "jumping right into Restaurant Week" with a $48 menu. Miracle in Sag Harbor marks owner Michael Nolan's return to his hometown this year. Southforker says that made it "an often fully booked ticket" and suggests reserving early. Miracle is on the official list with the $25 lunch and a $40 dinner.

Union Southampton also has a new look. Southforker reports that it dropped "Burger Bar" from its name, merged with Southampton Social Club and moved from Bowden Square to 256 Elm St. It's offering both the $25 lunch and a $48 dinner. Westhampton Beach Brew & Grille opened its second pub, on Main Street in Westhampton Beach, this past summer. It has a $25 lunch and a $40 dinner with Boom Boom Shrimp, Bavarian pretzels and a chimichurri-topped flatiron steak.

When the $48 is worth it

The top tier makes the most sense at restaurants where the regular menu already costs more. Southforker highlights Nick & Toni's in East Hampton, where the $48 menu includes a Balsam Farms baby kale salad with roasted figs, grilled local striped bass and a Concord grape-rosemary sorbet. R.AIRE's November 2026 menu lists crispy artichokes, tuna crudo, chicken pintxo, confit duck, seafood paella, mushroom fideua and flan.

Cooperage Inn in Baiting Hollow offers both the $40 and $48 versions. Southforker's preview mentions baked clams, seafood bisque, the inn's signature chicken pot pie and braised short ribs with French onion gnocchi. A few other Suffolk restaurants offer two dinner tiers, including Noah's in Greenport, Ruvo in Port Jefferson and Greenlawn, Piccolo Mondo Ristorante in Huntington and Verona Ristorante in Farmingdale. At those restaurants you can pick the $40 menu and save the $8 for a drink.

Some longtime participants are also part of the anniversary. The official site describes Caffe Amici in Selden as a neighborhood favorite since 1992 and Pasta Pasta in Port Jefferson as a favorite since 1991.

The anniversary giveaway

For the 20th year, organizers are giving away 20 gift cards of $100 each, good at the participating restaurant the winner chooses. Entry is through the online form on the Long Island Restaurant Week site, from 12 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, through 11:59 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 2026, according to Discover Long Island's event listing. The window stays open a day after the last prix fixe service on Nov. 8. Greater Long Island reports that over 20 years, the promotion has donated more than $40,000 to Long Island food banks and charities, including more than $10,000 to The INN.
